Alhamdulillah, by the blessing of Allah سبحانه و تعالى we have come to the final days and nights of Ramadan. The precious nature of these days and nights are unimaginable. It is without any doubt that if we truly understood the value of these waning moments of Ramadan that we would immerse ourselves in worship. We here at Chicago Hilal would like to wish you all a blessed end to Ramadan and request your du'as.
Sha'ban is one of the meritorious months for which we find some particular instructions in the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam. It is reported in the authentic ahadith that Prophet Muhammad, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, used to fast most of the month in Sha'ban.
Rabi'ul-Awwal is the most significant month in the Islamic history, as we were blessed in this month by the birth of the Holy Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam.
Prior to the advent of Islam the Arabs were steeped in superstitious beliefs, beliefs that regulated their social, economic and political activity. Superstition created a mysterious value system that gave rise to fear, suspicion and enmity.
Rasulullah (S) is reported to have said: "Whoever expands his expenditure on his family on the day of 'Aashura, Allah will inflate his sustenance for the rest of that year."
