The Chicago Hilal Committee received reports of the moon being sighted in multiple localities (including the Caribbean, Chilé, Chicago and St. Louis) on Monday, September 10th (Dhul-Hijjah 29, 1439).
Consequently, Dhul-Hijjah will complete 29 days, and Muharram will begin at Maghrib on Monday, September 10, 2018. The 1st of Muharram will be Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
We would like to welcome the month of Muharram and the year 1440 Hijri.
The 10th of Muharram (Yawmul Ashura) will be on Thursday, September 20th.
