The Chicago Hilal Committee has received and confirmed reports of the moon being sighted by our contacts in Chilé. Therefore, the 1st of Ramadan will begin on Monday, May 6th, insha’Allah.

- 27th Night of Qadr – Friday May 31st (after Maghrib)
- Eid-ul-Fitr – Tuesday, June 4th or Wednesday June 5th

The Chicago Hilal Committee will convene after Asr (6:30PM CDT) to determine the start of Ramadan 1440. We will update this page periodically throughout the evening as reports comes through.
Please note, however, that sunset in parts of the west coast will be close to 10:00 PM CDT, so it is possible that a final decision will not be made till 11:00 PM CDT. Please be patient with us as we contact our representatives throughout North America.
