Eid Mubarak! Eid will be on Monday, July 28, 2014. Based upon authentic moon sighting reports, the committee has declared that Ramadan will end with 29 days and Shawwal 1, 1435 will be Monday, July 28, 2014.
11:00 AM:
The Chicago Hilal Committee will meet tonight, Sunday, July 27, 2014 (Ramadan 29, 1435) to determine the start of Shawwal 1435 (Eid-ul-Fitr). Eid-ul-Fitr will be on either Monday, July 28th or Tuesday, July 29th.

The Chicago Hilal Committee will meet on Sunday, July 27, 2014 (Ramadan 29, 1435) to determine the start of Shawwal 1435 (Eid-ul-Fitr).
If the moon is sighted on Sunday night within North America, the 1st of Shawwal (Eid-ul-Fitr) will be Monday, July 28, 2014. If the moon is not sighted on Sunday night, Ramadan will complete its course of 30 days and Shawwal will begin on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
The first updates are expected to occur around 7:30 PM CDT. Updates will be made periodically after that as representatives through out North American are contacted. If the moon is not seen in the Caribbean, East Coast or the Midwest, the committee will wait to hear from the West Coast (whose sunset is around 10:15 PM CDT) before making a final decision.
