The Chicago Hilal Team would like to welcome the month of Dhul-Qadah, 1431. There were no valid reports of moon sighting anywhere in the United States on Friday, October 8, 2010 (Shawwal 29, 1431). Consequently, Shawwal will complete its full cycle of 30 days, and Dhul-Qadah begins at Maghrib on Saturday, October 9, 2010. The 1st of Dhul-Qadah is Sunday, October 10, 2010.
The Chicago Hilal Committee will meet on Sunday, November 7, 2010 (Dhul-Qadah 29, 2010) to determine the start of Dhul-Hijjah. The final decision is expected to be posted around 8:00pm CST. Dhul Hijjah 10, 1431 (Eid-ul-Adha) will be on either Wednesday, November 17th or Thursday, November 18th.
