Sunday night 12/28/2008 & Monday 12/29/2008 is Muharram 1, 1430 – The Chicago Hilal Team would like to welcome the month of Muharram and the year 1430 Hijri. There were no valid reports of moon sighting anywhere in the United States. Consequently, Dhul-Hijjah completed its full cycle of 30 days, and Muharram began at Maghrib on December 28, 2008. The 1st of Muharram is Monday, December 29, 2008.
